LYRICS
By Alex Cook

Forgive the whole wide world
And you will see the light
Because the whole wide world
Needs your love tonight
So take the blindness and the cruelty and the hatred and war
And let ‘em go, let ‘em go, and they will kill you no more.

I know it does not seem just
And it does not seem fair
To let ‘em go, let ‘em go
Like the birds of the air
But you will laugh and smile wide
When you see that it is done
And mercy falls on the heads of everyone.

    Hey Alex.
Terrific music, a simple and profound background for your words which are a delight. Love the birds and MERCY falling on our heads! Reminds me of a phrase we used to say to troubled kids who wanted to retaliate over little things. “Be above it”.

Also, this has helped me forgive. Mary B Eddy’s statement in her book, Science and Health “If mortal mind knew how to be better, it would be better.” That helps me feel compassion for folks who may not know they can tap into God’s good divine Mind for their inspiration, delight, motivation and decisions. Having the ability to decide this for myself however, frees me and can turn around a situation with another individual because I’m less likely to take offense, and cut off communication. R

  7. Wonderful words; lovely music; now let’s practice it.
