Hi Gordon -- I did marry the same girl and she made a comment above under "Val" -- referring to me as "old friend" -- I guess since we've been such good friends for so very long now. :0)

Quick question: did you marry the same girl that you're talking about here? Or did you marry someone else? The way it's phrased is kind of ambiguous.

Tons of great lessons here! I re-read this one and took away so much more the second time. Thanks for Sharing. A thought from the Pastor that I've turned too many times before as I examine my tendencies in social situations, says: "The tender word and Christian encouragement of an invalid, pitiful patience with his fears and the removal of them, are better than hecatombs of gushing theories, stereotyped borrowed speeches, and the doling of arguments, which are but so many parodies on legitimate Christian Science, aflame with divine Love" (SH 367). Thanks again for sharing this wonderful example of prayer in action.

Hi old friend! Yes, I remember so well. Those 2 words were profound in their simplicity, and spoke right to my heart. I wanted to know more -- about God, about healing, and about this humble, thoughtful man sitting in the bean bag chair in my living room.

Such a beautiful and simple thought. It is so easy to get caught up in needing attention from people, especially those we are attracted to. Stepping back enough to rejoice in the situation isn't easy. Thank you for sharing your moment.
