Erasing our inner graffiti

Christian Science healer and teacher LaMeice Harding was outraged when she found gang members spraying graffiti all over her Los Angeles home.  But hear what happened when she cast the beam out of her own eye, clearing her own thought of angry, hateful messages . . . .

Think of it! Just that one moment of realization of “Our Father” where you saw God was loving those teenagers brought multiple blessings for the school, the community and you. Thank you.

This is an awesome story. Thanks for sharing! It’s really helped me think about how I see others, and how powerful that is.

LaMeice, thank you so much for sharing this very powerful story. I love how turning to God revealed the truth about the situation as an opportunity for healing for everyone involved. Even the art class kids got a garage door to paint! Thanks again, this is really beautiful.

    Dear LaMeice
    Thanks for telling this .
This challenge has been mine too — this radical act.
I am still silently working at it…[to cast out the beam from my own eyes first. ]
    You had tangible results –
so it can be a peaceful blessing to anyone who takes on this challenge
to remove the “log” out of our own eye, to see clearly
that the other person is truly
the child (or children) of God.

  7. Pat Duke says:

    Thanks, this was so beautiful!

  8. Christian says:

Thanks so much for this lovely testimony. I like you what said about not joining in the anger. Anger can be a very counter-productive thing. I’ve been learning not to act in anger because things turn to get worse. Whenever I feel like someone’s done something I to offend or annoy me, I like to step away and calm my thoughts and just listen for good thoughts. It’s not always easy but I believe being quiet in the face of brewing conflict is a great step in the right direction. Thanks so much for sharing!
