Hi Friends!
Just wanted to share a passage and a half that I have found particularly inspiring in the last couple weeks.
“The wilderness and the solitary place shall be glad for them; and the desert shall rejoice and blossom as the rose. It shall blossom abundantly and rejoice even with joy and singing:” -Isaiah 35: 1 (and part of 2)
There are a lot of “deserts” in my life right now: a relationship that I’d been pursuing that didn’t work out, a major shift in friendships, an upcoming international move, my employment prospects next year when I finish college, my employment prospects NOW. Whenever I start to feel panicked about these issues, I remind myself that my needs will not only be sort-of met or adequately met, but abundantly met.
Just thought I’d share -I know there are a lot of supposed “deserts” out there waiting to blossom!!
Emma, that’s beautiful. Have you ever read the article Relationships and reliance on God by Wynne Nuernberg? I think you might get a lot out of it!
I love it, Emma. Thanks so much for sharing.
Thanks Emma! I love returning to Mrs Eddy’s Glossary definition:
“WILDERNESS. Loneliness; doubt; darkness. Spontaneity of thought and idea; the vestibule in which a material sense of things disappears, and spiritual sense unfolds the great facts of existence.” (SH 597:16)
Thanks everyone. And yes, Gordon, that article was a good read :)
