I had my first career job all lined up and today I got word that the organization is going through some huge issues and they don’t know if they’ll have to shut down or not. How can I pray about this? I feel bad for me, I feel bad for them.

August 10, 2012 at 6:40 pm #67128Hi Elizabeth- MBE says in part, “You must feel and know that God alone governs man; that His government is harmonious…” Rudimental Div Science p 10.
I’m with Isabella, you can trust that. You can be still and feel the divine government in place and see all the good that unfolds for everyone! There is no reason to feel bad for yourself or them when you are doing that. :)
Hugs,
Annette
August 10, 2012 at 7:18 pm #67129Hey Elizabeth,
Everyone is taken care of in every situation. God is in control of your life and those running that organization.
A few years ago, I was looking for a new job too. I had just gotten out of the Peace Corps, which had been an incredibly empowering experience. I got back to the US, really enthusiastic and excited about what I was going to do next. But looking for jobs was a slog. I found a youth program around Boston that looked perfect. Over a hundred people applied for the position. I was one of 20 that were chosen to interview by phone. And I made the top 5 to come to an in-person interview. I was so excited about it after I left the interview. But then I didn’t get it. And I was devastated. I continued searching for jobs. But I really had to pray to pull myself mentally out of a feeling of hopelessly. I had to really learn to put my trust and God and listen for His guidance, instead of simply following my own.
A couple of months later, the perfect job found me and it was WAY better than what I had been looking for. A new Peace Corps program had started up in West Africa and they needed a technical trainer to design the training program for the new Peace Corps volunteers. I didn’t even know about those types of positions, and later found out that they are extremely competitive. Normally I would have been under-qualified. But the program was based off of the program I had been a volunteer for and the program director had recommended me as a potential trainer. I was contacted by Peace Corps about it and immediately accepted it! I was going back to Africa! And I was given complete freedom to design the training program the way I wanted, which challenged me in new ways. I learned a ton and absolutely loved it!
That experience always taught me that no matter what happens, always continue trusting that God is in control. There’s always a plan for each one of us! And usually its WAY better than we could ever imagine!
