    Dear Friends,

Its been almost three months learning CS, reading S&H & bible lesson. hope to find solution for physical healing in stubborn respiratory problem by understanding God. Along with that, i also being in progress to banish bad habit/sin like desire for pre-marital sex & party, it’s very dificult work, but i’m still working on it.

the temptation to do sin is very strong, frankly i had to fall into temptation. And this often makes me unworthily to pray…

Do i pray wrong….?, please i need support and inspiration of you….

Mary Baker Eddy has this to say, on page 77 of Science and Health:

The recognition of Spirit and of infinity comes not suddenly here or hereafter. The pious Polycarp said: "I cannot turn at once from good to evil." Neither do other mortals accomplish the change from error to truth at a single bound.

What does that mean? That means that you don’t have to beat yourself up for not seeing the full recognition of Spirit immediately with a snap of your fingers. Take your time. God Loves you, and it is God working within you as you whittle away all the sins and distractions that would keep you from your life purpose. We are all doing this. It’s okay to be gentle with yourself, and patient.

The feelings of guilt are useful only so far as they keep you moving forward. But you do not need to carry them around all day, nor do you need to listen to the voice that tells you that you are unworthy. The Fact is: you ARE worthy. You always have been worthy and nothing can ever change that.

You are a temperate woman. You have discipline, self-control, and satisfaction, because God gave you dominion over your own thinking.

Hey Moraya — Thanks for posting.  Yes, you’re doing great, stick with it!  Sometimes it feels as if you’re learning the same lesson over, and again … don’t worry, pick your self up and try a little smarter the next time.  Inevitably you’ll be making more progress than you realise, and it’ll all be far more worthwhile than you’d think.  The best way to stop doing daft things is to start doing better things, which is why I love the fruits of the Spirit in Galatians 5:22, 23.  They’re great qualities to work on, perhaps one a day.
    Happy spiritual growing :)

One of the things I love about Christian Science is it teaches that God loves us unconditionally and sees us as always perfect. We aren’t mortals born in sin or trying to materially please God. No! We’re His beloved children right now! God created us perfect in His image and likeness, spiritual, not material. Sometimes it can be hard to see that though. One thing I’ve found really helpful is the idea, we’re not trying to fix matter, or stop sinning. What we really need to do is lift our thought above all these things and see actually, we have never been material and sinful.

Also sometimes when we’re praying about a problem, we can get very bogged down in praying and then looking for results. I’ve had experiences where I’ve been praying specifically about an issue and it just hasn’t got any better. But when I’ve stopped concentrating on praying about that one thing and opened my thought and stopped focusing on the problem, its just vanished.

Keep fighting the battle. God will show you how. Love doesn’t leave us comfortless (without strength to meet every kind of challenge).

    Hi again, Moraya,

I was reading the Bible Lesson and found this like that I have found helpful many times in my life, “sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

I love the promise that we are not under the false law which says we are governed by our bodies, by impulses, by animality, by sensuality. We are governed by Grace.

    Hi Moraya,
Sorry for posting so many times. But I just listened to a chat on JSH-Online entitled “Overcoming Sin” and it was fantastic. I thought you might enjoy it too. Here is the link:
