Hey all, I know some of you got spam messages in your email in the last few days. We have been working on the problem and have now suppressed it. We don’t expect any more problems to arise, but if they do, please let us know in the Feedback forum, which is always accessible near the top of the sidebar in this discussion area. Thanks so much for your patience.

Oh, thanks. I just logged on to see if there is something I should be doing about those!

I got one a couple days ago, and another one this morning, about an hour ago.

D–

TY. Was looking to ask about this. Could pass-through emails be limited to members or others otherwise signed online?
This particular phisher/spammer wrote me a very complimentary email supposedly replying to my update (link to update was auto-provided) and choosing to contact me after evaluating my profile.

SUGGESTION for T4T USERS receiving odd/complimentary emails:
1. If you don’t know the name, search for it in the T4T Community > Members list. Also, check for reply/update to your post/comment referenced in the email. Check your profile for messages and your inbox.
2. You can also use the FB search for the name or email. That is how I uncovered this phisher/spammer today.
3. Search at email provider if you have an account with that service (eg: &#82...@yahoo.com)
4. If you were chosen by the phisher because of your profile (particularly if your profile has little info showing)– DO NOT believe it.

ONLINE PROVERBS:
Website support fixes are usually applied after an event.
DISCERN not react.
Be “wise as serpents…”
Respond or not according to WISDOM.

PHISHER: someone who is phishing or trying obtain your email address or other personal information by suggesting they know you or would be a good/useful contact/friend/business; someone looking for others’ ID information for their personal use.

TY, David, I think this is the issue you have reported as resolved. :)
Added the SUGGESTIONS for those who might not have recognized this issue or similar one.
