Phil Serrano: Priceless
When Phil was in college, he heard Bob Dylan and was blown away. The 60′s Blues Revival was also in full swing then. His sister gave him a Dylan songbook and he devoured it. He graduated, moved to California, and bought an electric guitar after hearing Michael Bloomfield, Muddy Waters and a host of others. Today, almost a half a century and many bands later, he writes songs and plays electric guitar. Several years ago he was asked to substitute for the soloist at First Church Christ Scientist, Pacifica, CA where he is a member. He did a bluesy version of Mary Baker Eddy’s hymn Feed My Sheep and he was invited back as a regular soloist! He accepted on the condition that he could write his own solos. He currently solos at his church twice a month with his acoustic guitar, accompanied by the church pianist. Phil has made two CD’s so far with his electric guitar and studio musicians, and has one more in the works. In his own words: “I love God, I love telecasters and I love to play the blues!”

Song Title:Priceless
Lyrics:She is priceless, far above rubies
The works of her hands always prosper
Her candle will never go out
She opens her mouth with wisdom
In her tongue is the law of kindness
Blessed is he who trusts in God
He plows his fields with hope
He’s like a tree planted by the waters
And his roots spread by the river
And he shall not be moved
The human thought changes from one stage to another
From pain to painlessness, from sorrow to joy,
From fear to hope, from faith to understanding
Divine Science is the truth we employ
She is priceless
Blessed is he
The works of their hands always prosper
They’re like trees planted by the waters
And they open their mouths with wisdom
They shall not be moved
Phil Serrano

Hoo Rah for Phil. Way to go. I heard you once at the Pacifica church and it was wonderful. Glad to hear you have CD’s out now. I’ll try to get one when I go to San Fran next time.
