When Tabea Mangelsdorf and her pianist and vocal percussionist Fabian Klebig perform they invite their listeners to experience the music in a fresh and exhilarating way. What they communicate with their music can be lyrical or funky but it is always soulful and honest. As a young girl Tabea never knew of the voice in her. She learned to play the piano for many years and soon started improvising her own compositions. When in 2004 someone heard her secretly singing, she was asked to give a concert at a big tropical ball in Potsdam. Inspiring and touching many of her listeners with her clear, soothing, yet awakening voice, Tabea and Fabian Klebig have since been booked to perform at countless occasions. This unique duo with their talent for musical spontaneity and sensitivity is known for wild and soul-filling nights at cafe, weddings, birthdays, and exhibitions. They have played for business anniversaries, at a charity concert and various balls at the state concert hall “Nikolaisaal Potsdam,” and at the “Grammy Award Ceremony for Best German Dubbing Speakers.” After her German Abitur Tabea received a scholarship to Principia College in the USA and has finished a degree in classical voice performance. She now continues her jazz and pop career. She has led bands and acappella groups, has performed and composed with Fabian Klebig from Germany and singer and guitarist Janet Irvine from England, and wrote a show called “Untouchable Voices” with actor Anna Procter based on four months worth of travel and interviews with India’s Untouchables.
