I have a question about GoVerse. I LOVE this app, which our recent lecturer turned me on to. However, I thought it was supposed to present me with a mixture of Bible verses and MBE quotes when I tap it on my iPhone. All I ever get are MBE quotes. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks for the help.

    • John says:

Hi Barb, thanks for writing in about this. Yes, there should be passages from the Bible as well; have you tried swiping left or right on the screen, once you’ve selected a topic?

I do know that since the release of iOS8, there have been some issues with the app operation. I’d love to point you to the online version of GoVerse, accessible from any web-enabled device. We also have the Daily Verse posted on our Facebook page, our Twitter account, and at

The web version itself is here, our Facebook page is here and Twitter is here.
Basically this means you can have the GoVerse experience from any device or computer with an internet connection.
I hope these will be sufficient for you! We are not updating or maintaining the mobile-specific app any longer, although you are certainly welcome to hold on to it and keep using what is there! The web version is where we are focused now, and it is essentially an exact replica of the app experience.

Leave a comment back and let me know if this all makes sense! Thanks for your enthusiasm for GoVerse!

      • Barb says:

Thanks for your answer, John. It was very helpful. I managed to add an icon for the website to the home screen of my phone, so that makes the web version of GoVerse more convenient. I sure prefer the phone app, but understand the development cost must be prohibitive, since this is being offered at no charge. I may also try updating my phone software to see if that will help with the phone app.

        • John says:

Glad this helped! Actually, while I can’t and won’t recommend one way or another regarding updating your phone software, I do know that iOS8 caused a big ruckus with the GoVerse app operation, so I don’t know that that would help any. But the web version is OS independent, it just needs web access, so hopefully you can find a good use for all the different options :-)

Thanks again for your enthusiasm for GoVerse! Glad it’s been helpful :-)

  2. Cathy Smith McDonel says:

Ever since I did my iOS 8 update to my iPhone this App has not been showing any photos & is crashing when you try to select a photo to display, please fix this issue ASAP, this is my very Favorite App & I do a lot of posting with it.

    • John says:

Hi Cathy, thanks for writing in about this. Yes, the recent iOS8 update caused some challenges with the app functionality.

While we sort it out, can I recommend that you use the Web version of GoVerse? It provides you with most of the same functionality as the app, and is accessible from any device that can access the internet. It cannot favorite quotes / images, but you can save images + quotes to your camera roll on your device so it’s basically the same as favoriting. Sharing to social networks is the same as the app; however if you want to send the image + quote as a text message, you can do that from your camera roll once you’ve saved it.

Thanks for your enthusiasm for the app, it’s good to know how helpful it is to you!

  3. Esther says:

Well I do not have an I -device and I can’t find the android version.

    • Dawn-Marie says:

Hi Esther, There isn’t a current Android app, but there is a great website that has all of the features of the app. has all the beautiful photography and the inspiring messages from the Bible and Mary Baker Eddy’s writings. I hope you enjoy it.

      • Rachel says:

Hi.  Several years ago,  I had this app on my Android phone but at the time it was too much for my phone.

I wanted to download it again on my new bigger phone,  but I can’t find it in the Google Play Store. Your link above to download only takes you to the Apple App Store.

How do I download the Android version?

        • John says:

Hi Rachel, thanks for asking about this. As you saw, the app is not available on the Google Play store; however, I’d love to recommend that you try the web version of GoVerse here. You can use this from the web browser on your phone, tablet, or computer – anywhere you have internet. It has much the same functionality as the app, and there’s even a daily verse you can check out on Facebook, Twitter, or Time4Thinkers.

          I hope this helps!

  4. hi,

i would like to know if you would PLEASE e-mail me the android apk of the goverse app. i don’t have an iphone, or a cell phone that utilizes apps, but i do have a kindle fire hd (it’s android based) that this will run in.

i have searched the amazon store, but you are not there (it’s free, i think, to post apps there. and the android one would work fine on a kindle).

so, PLEASE, could you e-mail me the apk so i can install it on my kindle? please.

    thank you,

    • Justin says:

      Hey Steven,

Thanks for getting in touch with us on this forum and by email. A proper response here will be too lengthy – so i’ll address this one by email! Suffice is to say that GoVerse is developed natively on iOS, and on Rhodes for Android.

  5. Patti says:

Thanks so much for developing this app.  It is so helpful and fun to use.

I just found out about it on Facebook. I can’t believe I did not know about it before.  Please keep posting the information on Facebook on all the CS church’s various pages, so people find it.  Why not send an email out to members as well?

I am glad you developed it for Android (would not ask for a Blackberry app for my phone-audience is too small).  At this point, Android phones are selling better than i phones, so the audience is growing. Android tablets are more affordable than the ipad, so I imagine that market share will grow.

Regarding a website, I think it is a great idea.  Many people will find it, it is useful when on a computer and especially for people who do not have  an Apple or Android product.

  6. Jenny Mansfield says:

Yes, I’d love to be able to get GoVerse on my Nokia phone and my laptop. Thanks for all the wonderful work!

  7. Susan Zeller says:

I for one would appreciate a version which I can use on my computer.  Anyone else interested in this?  thanks!

    • Justin says:

Thank you oh so very much for your interest in GoVerse. And please continue to use this forum as a place to suggest new ideas, ask questions, or share your own inspiration. A GoVerse website huh?  It would be very helpful if we knew of more people like Susan. What do others think about a GoVerse website with the ability to browse the Word and inspiring images?

  8. Roger Brunstrum says:

I am so grateful for this app. I use it a lot when working on a problem. It quiets the wandering thoughts.

This am I was focusing on the topic of Body and it was soooo helpful.

  9. Chet says:

The new version was developed specifically for Apple devices since we’ve been finding that about 75% of our users are on iPhones, iPods, and iPads.  But there is still a version of GoVerse available for Android at the Android App Marketplace.  And we’re hoping to develop a mobile-friendly website for GoVerse so ANYONE can access the collection of quotes and photos, regardless of the cell phone or mobile device you’re using – or even just using a computer.  Before doing this, we’re waiting to see if there is sufficient demand for it.  Thanks for expressing your interest!

    • Grant says:

Thanks for the background, a Chet.  I’m pretty curious what 75% of “our users” means.  75% of t4t visits?  75% of app downloads back when there was an Android app available?  I’d find either surprising (b/c generally Android users outnumber iOS users) but believable (this crowd loves them their iPhones).

      • John says:

        Hi Grant,

Thanks for your interest! A fair bit of time has passed since those percentages were found, so I’m sure those numbers are different now. But actually, did you know we have a web version of GoVerse which can be accessed on any device or computer, and it provides the same experience as the app? That page is here: GoverseWeb.

        Hope you enjoy this offering!

  10. Elena Shideler says:

Does this app work with Android?  If so will you guide me to download it?

    • Patti says:

Elena:  I hope by now you have been able to download the app. If not, here is what you do.  It is very simple.  You go to the App store on your Android phone or tablet. Search for Goverse and click on the selection.  Then, click on install. That should be it.  I just downloaded it on my Nexus 7 tablet which uses the newest operating system and it works fine. If you have an older phone, check out the comments on the installation page for some guidance.

      • Ginny says:

I have tried finding this on the android store and it does not exist. Even going to googly play store online it does not exist. Google search for goverse android supplies a link to the play store to download android, but the link does not exist, not found.

        • Dawn-Marie says:

Hi fellow Android users! Unfortunately, development for GoVerse on Android has stopped. Only iOS devices can have an app. It simply is, at the moment, prohibitively expensive to develop for both operating systems. However, you can, from you browser on your Android device, go to and get a fantastic GoVerse experience. It’s got everything the iOS app has and is available whenever you are connected to the web.
          Hope that helps!
